A new Orthodox mission station in southwest Fairfax County, Virginia with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon of the Archdiocese of Washington of the Orthodox Church in America. A mission station is the first step in exploring if there is sufficient interest to start a mission church in the area.

All Saints of America Orthodox church in Alexandria was established as an all-English church on July 1, 2008 by the blessing of Metropolitan Herman. Its goal is to provide a community for local Orthodox Christians and make the Orthodox faith known in this area.
As a mission of the Orthodox Church in America, All Saints of America church strives to continue the missionary work begun by the earliest Russian missionaries in Alaska. Through their writings, it is clear that they believed that the Apostolic Orthodox Faith was being brought to America by the will of God. They labored to translate the Gospel and services into native languages and foresaw the establishment of an indigenous Orthodox Church in America.
The Orthodox Church is neither Roman Catholic nor Protestant. Although the Orthodox Church has been historically connected with various ethnic cultures - especially those in Eastern Europe and the Mid East - the Orthodox Faith, claiming unbroken continuity with Apostolic Faith, is universal in character and calls all to "come and see."
Consecrated in 1988, Protection of the Holy Mother of God Orthodox Church (St. Mary), is a community of the Orthodox Church in America, an English-language parish of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America, that meets in Falls Church, VA. Our congregation is a mix of cradle, convert, and "re-vert" worshippers, coming from all different walks of life and backgrounds. In other words, we are a great American "melting pot" of Orthodoxy in the heart of the Nation's Capital!

Founded in 1961 by Serbian Orthodox Christians, through the years, St. Luke has evolved into a multicultural parish. About a third of our parishioners of are of Serbian descent, about a third are from other Orthodox cultures (eastern European and North African), and about a third are traditionally non-Orthodox Americans who have converted to Orthodoxy.
We continue to grow spiritually through an expanding cycle of services, weekly Bible study classes, monthly Saturday morning men's prayer breakfasts, an Orthodox book club, a prayer ministry, and additional ministries that enable us to offer our parishioners' diverse gifts up to God.
We thank God for our many blessings and pray for His continued guidance as we seek to draw closer to Him individually and as a parish family.
It was Fr. John Meyendorff of happy memory who brought Holy Trinity to life during his sabbatical from St. Vladimir's Seminary to mind Harvard University's Dumbarton Oaks Research Library in Georgetown. He crowned the efforts of a small group of faithful (from area Greek and Russian parishes) striving to establish an English-language parish in the Reston-Sterling vicinity.
Today we are a small, stable community, striving to bring Orthodox Christians together in English and believers to Orthodoxy. We have no ethnicity to speak of, yet in important ways we are more like a parish in the Orthodox world-in Athens, say, or Damascus, in Bucharest, or Kiev-than the local ethnic parishes are. Our goal is to embody the Orthodox Way in Protestant America while giving ourselves to the renewal of church life our Bishops have called for. In their 1976 encyclical On Spiritual Life in the Church they tell us, "We ... must strive to revitalize the mystical, sacramental life of our churches and monasteries. To renew sacramental participation in the life of the Church we need only begin."
The Mission of the Orthodox Church in America, the local autocephalous Orthodox Church, is to be faithful in fulfilling the commandment of Christ to "Go into all the world and make disciples of all Nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all [things that He has] commanded" so that all people may be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth:
To preach, in accordance with God's will, the fullness of the gospel of the Kingdom to the peoples of North America and to invite them to become members of the Orthodox Church.
To utilize for her mission the various languages of the peoples of this continent.
To be the body of Christ in North America and to be faithful to the tradition of the Holy Orthodox Church.
To witness to the truth, and by God's grace and in the power of the Holy Spirit, to reveal Christ's way of sanctification and eternal salvation to all.
